Book of Memories for Albert J. Zapatka

Everyday when I came into work, I would look down the hall and there was Al, sitting in his chair. He would see me and wave with that huge smile on his face. It always made my day. It was worth going to work. I kept him next to the med cart while I worked and he would keep me company. He sang to me everyday and I used to ask him questions about his life. He was a very interesting person. I liked him the first time I met him. Al had a very big heart, and was a kind compassionate man. He would always do anything that I asked of him. He never complained. He never lost his patience no matter what I had to do to help him. He always said thank you for taking such good care of me. I told him it was my privelege and I was the lucky one. I got to know him. I met his nephew John, and his wonderful sister Rose and Leah. Rose and Leah would visit almost every night, and I always looked forward to seeing them come. I grew to Love Rose and Leah. When Rose was done visiting she'd come and hug me. She'd kiss Al, which made me cry. Al and Rose had such a wonderful relationship and you could see how much they loved each other. Al, it was a pleasure getting to know you over the past two years. I will always have the memories of helping you in the garden learning how to pick the "perfect tomatoe" and singing along with you "Happy Day's Are Here Again". I'll miss you.
