Sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. I knew him well for his years at City Hill and enjoyed his company. I knew Bill was a fair and respected umpire butty father (Cappy Furs) told me of Bill and Manny as star athletes at Naugy Hill. I remember well when a group of teachers went to honor Bill at his induction to the Naugatuck Hall of Fame. Bill’s speech was “Thank You!” He got theloudest applause of all. Bill Matos was very valuable member of the City Hill Middle School staff. He worked well staff, administrators, and students. Mr. Matos was a great friend to City Hill even after he retired. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.
